Marshall Makstein
As a longtime presentation evangelist and a true believer in the power of a well-designed presentation, it only makes sense that Marsh initiated the concept that would become eSlide. While the business world was on the “Death by PowerPoint” bandwagon, Marsh felt strongly enough about well-designed presentations that he decided that it was time a company specialized in PowerPoint design and production.
Marsh believes that presentations are a critical corporate communication tool, and promotes the idea that effective PowerPoint can actually bring LIFE to ideas and organizations. In his 20+ years in the industry, he has seen many examples of the influence a good presentation can have on a company. He has seen great presentations motivate firms to survive tough challenges, and has witnessed stock prices soar after a strong presentation by company leadership teams.
Along with a B.S. degree in Organizational Communication, Marshall brings a unique combination of creative, technical and managerial talent that provides clients with effective and efficiently produced visual media.
When not in front of a computer screen, Marshall can be found fishing or just floating around the Navesink River on the Jersey Shore with his wife and two daughters. In the winter he hibernates and dreams about warmer weather.
Russell Borrelli
A slide-making machine since 1983, Russ has worked with several Fortune-ranked C-level executives on key presentations. Also a presentation evangelist, it seemed inevitable that he and Marshall would join forces to create eSlide.
From early on, Russ has participated in the evolution of the presentation production industry, starting in the days of typesetting and mechanicals, to the software tools we use today. Even before he launched eSlide, he had been instrumental in the assessment of the latest technology and determining how to integrate and implement it to meet the client requirements for various companies. So, it is only natural that Russ leads eSlide’s technical development.
While there are plenty of resources that “do PowerPoint,” Russ believes that eSlide’s strength is the ability to combine creativity, technical knowledge and analytical skills to present client’s messages clearly and concisely.
Russ was formally educated in electronic technology and audio engineering, and was a recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal, first place award for Autographix Business Graphics Design, and earned a membership in the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society during his studies.
He currently resides in northern New Jersey with his wife and two children.
P. Alan Goeman
Alan’s diagnostic and problem solving skills, along with his creative vision, make him a natural fit for the eSlide leadership team. His passion for presentations, devotion to excellent design and meticulous nature have helped establish eSlide as a Presentation Powerhouse.
Beginning his career in the advertising world, Alan has a strong background in creative concepting and information design. He’s always believed that successful design comes from a focus on the message to be delivered rather than the technology involved. This ideal allowed him to help many firms migrate from traditional “on-the-boards” media to today’s high-tech digital production systems, without losing their creative flair.
As eSlide’s creative lead, his right- and left-brained abilities help us create powerful presentation graphics that clearly communicate client’s critical messages, on time and on budget.
With a B.A. in Graphic Design and 15 years of creative media experience, Alan was a key contributor during the early development of eSlide. He continues to be a driving force in the evolution of our internal processes.
Both sides of Alan’s brain live in New Jersey with his wife.
Jen Finke
In the early days of eSlide, when we shared tight quarters in a tiny midtown Manhattan office, Jen’s calm demeanor and production and coordination expertise helped lead the company through some very crazy days. With only a handful of clients who were willing to give the “new guys” a chance, her client management skills and attention to detail were critical to our initial success.
With over 20 years of project managing and creative experience in the fast-paced world of presentation design, Jen remembers when most people used 35mm slides and overheads to present. Although the medium has changed, as most clients use laptops instead of slide projectors, the need to transform complicated ideas – sometimes scribbled on a napkin – into well thought-out, informative slides hasn’t.
Jen holds a B.A. in Communications from Cedarville University in Ohio.
She lives in Colorado with her husband and their 3 children, one of whom holds the same birthday as eSlide… but that story is for another day.
